North Korea's 2017/18 crop production expected to be 5% lower than previous year: UN
  • 6 years ago
North Korea's crop production is expected to drop by five percent this year... due to a lack of rain and farm resources.
According to a report by the UN's food and agriculture agency,... North Korea's crop yield from November 2017 to October of this year... is projected to be just 5-point-5 million tons.
In particular,... the production of soybeans and potatoes is projected to fall drastically.
The UN agency cited dry weather conditions in North Korea's main farming areas... as well as low irrigation water for the reduced production.
