Beachgoers at Nags Head, North Carolina, experienced strong winds and surf on July 9 because of Tropical Storm Chris.The National Weather Service reported possible dangerous rip currents and strong longshore currents for beaches in eastern North Carolina on July 9.Tropical Storm Chris was expected to stay offshore on July 9, with the possibility of becoming a hurricane.
