Robert Mueller Adds More Justice Department Resources for Russia Probe Special Counsel Robert Mueller is adding Justice Department resources for his investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. Recently, Mueller's team has been coping with a higher-than-expected volume of court challenges. As Mueller pursues the probe, he’s now making more use of career prosecutors from the offices of U.S. attorneys, the Justice Department and FBI agents. Sources say its a clue Mueller is laying the groundwork to hand off parts of his investigation. Throughout the investigation so far, the special counsel has issued 20 indictments and secured five
guilty pleas. However some of the defendants, like Paul Manafort, are mounting stiffer-than-expected battles in court.
