Suspect in Fatal Charlottesville Car Attack Pleads Not Guilty James Alex Fields Jr. is accused of driving into a crowd at the 'Unite the Right' rally held in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Aug. 12. According to the indictment, he faces one count of a hate crime for the death of Heather Heyer, 32, who died after being hit by his car.
