Research suggests parrots have a larger brain circuit for higher-order thinking, which is surprisingly mammal-like.
Parrots can build tools, recognize themselves in a mirror, and understand object permanence...
...as well as being capable of vocal learning and expression.
So human and bird brains are not as different as you might think!
