Mumbai Bridge over grant road station develops cracks; police close road for traffic temporarily

A day after the bridge that connects Andheri east to west in Mumbai collapsed on railway tracks, another bridge running over railway tracks in grant road developed cracks and was shut for traffic yesterday. Issuing an advisory, the Mumbai police diverted the traffic to Nana Chowk. The BMC however maintains that cracks on the bridge were not major and a careful examination of the structure by senior railway engineers is underway.
