Days after BJP-PDP divorce, race for Jammu and Kashmir alliance begins

Differences within People's democratic Party came out in the open after senior party leader and Former Minister Imran Raza Ansari accused Ex-Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of remaining incompetant. Sources have revealed that a big breakaway faction of PDP is ready to join the saffron party. Meanwhile Congress is holding a series of meetings to discuss the political situation in the troubled state and is considering whether to attempt an alliance, possibly with the People’s Democratic Party. Senior leaders, including legislators, will give their assessment of the ground situation at a meeting in Srinagar today.
