Andheri bridge collapse: foot overbridges crushing Mumbai's spirit
  • 6 years ago
One year, two bridges in Mumbai collapse crushing its spirit. Part of the Gokhale foot overbridge at Mumbai’s Andheri station collapsed on Tuesday following heavy rain, injuring five people. BMC constructed the bridge but Western Railways manages its maintenance. Ironically, the structure collapsed hours before construction of another bridge. Was to be completed at a collapse site from last year, the Elphinstone station. In September 2017, the Elphinstone foot overbridge collapsed killing 22 people and injuring 35.
