Meditation is about the thoughts and the distraction

I had someone ask me this question about meditation - I hate meditating, because I can't switch off my mind. And I thought to myself, I don't think you would want to do that, switching off your mind, means that you are essentially braindead. What meditation is all about is stopping distraction mode. Getting into a state where we are aware of our thoughts, as they flit by us, but we don't get distracted by the stories in our head. Check out this video to learn more.
