The Boston Red Sox defeated the New York Yankees 3-2 in 10 innings to take the rubber game of this 3-game series at Yankee stadium. The win puts the first-place Red Sox at 67-50 and increases their American League East lead to 5.5 games over the second place Yankees who drop to 61-55.
