Rare and beautiful bioluminescence on a beach in north Wales

In a rare and beautiful sighting, bioluminescent plankton appeared on the beach at Penmon Point, Anglesey in north Wales on the night of 25 June. The plankton lights up blue as a defence mechanism when disturbed by movement in the water, such as the waves and tides.
