Newfoundland Sees Rare Snow in Late June

Snow fell in Gander, Newfoundland, on Tuesday, June 26, which media outlets have reported is a rare occurrence for the area this late in June.This video shows a bus taking children to school through the snow for their last day of the school year.Rodney Barney, the uploader and a meteorologist for Environment Canada, reported that the snow accumulated to 2 inches by the morning of June 26.The Department of Transportation and Works cautioned drivers of the slippery roads and said that snow plows were working on the highways.The snow won’t stay for long, according to a Canadian news outlet, because rainfall is expected in Newfoundland by the evening of June 26.
