A FORMER martial arts champion has been left blind after getting Lyme disease from a tick bite. Stephen Bullough, 51, is bedridden two years after the bite while camping. And the dad of two has slammed the NHS for refusing him treatment.

Stephen, of Wigan, said: “It’s soul-destroying — everything has been taken away from me.”

ID specialists were actually refusing to treat him 'as his Lyme ELISA test did not show up positive', despite the clear history showing all sign of Lyme. In the meantime he was going blind, paralysed and had violent seizures.

A three-times martial arts world champion from Wigan has been refused treatment for an infection which has left him blind and unable to walk.

Stephen Bullough, 51, is bed-bound after the infection, believed to be Lyme disease, ravaged his central nervous system, respiratory system and left him with no sight in either eye. https://www.wigantoday.net/news/world-martial-arts-champion-from-wigan-left-bed-bound-and-blind-from-suspected-lyme-disease-1-9198981

"Fit-as-a-fiddle" Stephen Bullough, 51, thought nothing of it when he noticed the small mark the size of a poppy seed on his arm.

He has participated in martial arts since the age of five, and is a three-times world champion and eight times world champion.

Stephen is also an 8th Dan in Karate and Kickboxing, Master in Bushido and the Chairman for the British Association of Martial Arts.
