Number of single-person households surpassed 5.6 million in 2017

Last year, Korea again saw a rise in the number of people living alone.
According to Statistics Korea, the number of single-person households surpassed 5-point-6 million as of October 2017,... an increase of 3-point-3 percent on year.
The data also show one-person households accounted for 28-point-7 percent of all family units.
Young people living by themselves seemed to be settling down.
The number of those aged 15 to 29 who were living alone *and holding down jobs... increased by 10-point-7 percent -- the biggest jump among all age groups.
