Thousands of US business are trying to save their businesses from President Trump's new metals tariffs.
But Business Insider reports a huge bureaucratic backlog is putting many of them at risk.
Companies can request exemptions to the steel and aluminum tariffs if they can't find metals domestically.
The US Commerce Department says businesses have filed more than 20,000 exemption requests.
But officials say the Department has ruled on fewer than 100 of those requests.
