Trump Slams 'Crooked Hillary' Over Germany's Crime Rate

President Trump on Tuesday took another aim at Hillary Clinton.

President Trump on Tuesday slammed 'Crooked Hillary' for challenging the assertion that crime rates in Germany have risen.  He said during an anniversary celebration for the National Federation of Independent Business that Germany "allowed millions of people in."
"And, by the way, their crime, from the time they started, is up more than 10 percent," Trump added. "And that's one of the reasons it's at that level is because they don't like reporting that kind of crime, so they put it down as a different kind of crime. But their crime is up more than 10 percent since they started taking them in."  He continued, "I heard somebody said that Crooked Hillary Clinton was questioning that statistic."  Trump tweeted a similar message earlier that day, writing, "Crime in Germany is up 10% plus (officials do not want to report these crimes) since migrants were accepted. Others countries are even worse. Be smart America!" It's unclear where Trump got his German crime information, but CBS News reports that, according to Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office, rates recently fell by nearly 10%.  CBS further reports that "crimes by non-German suspects fell by 22 percent in 2017. By any measure, Germany has far less violent crime than the U.S."
