California Dam Breach Threat Downgraded as Repairs Done

Officials continued to monitor a dam at Little Washoe Lake in Nevada on Monday, June 18, after fears the dam could breach. An alert has been downgraded from imminent threat to a watch, a news report said.Workers were fortifying the dam on Monday afternoon and had made significant progress by the evening. The problems were discovered during an inspection of the dam.If the dam were to breach, it would cause low-level flooding in the Steamboat Creek area. Residents were warned to be prepared to evacuate if notified. Sandbags also were available for residents.This video shows crews working on repairs to the dam on Monday afternoon.
