Macedonia, Greece sign historic agreement on name change amid protests from nationalists

Macedonia and Greece have ended a 27-year-old dispute by signing a historic agreement that changes the name of the former Yugoslav republic to the Republic of North Macedonia.
It was signed on Sunday at Lake Prespa, the border that separates both countries.
The accord paves the way for Macedonia to seek membership in the European Union and NATO.
However, nationalists from both sides are bitterly opposed to the name change and the deal must still be ratified in the parliaments of both nations.
