The challenge of depression
Depression, whatever the type and support we have, is a journey we walk alone...everyone is different in how they deal with depression. Most of the time it is considered to be like a 'black dog' that follows us around, but I prefer to think of it as a challenge to face. Challenges are good, and if we fail the first time then we need to try again...plus it is unique to us. The reason/s why we have become depressed are important, but coping with it on a daily basis and coming out the other side is paramount. Most importantly, we must never feel as though we have failed ourselves or others by not being able to cope in the first place. Talking, learning, and positive action will be the steps to take towards recovery...and having the knowledge that you can cope if it arises again in you life.
