Trump Encourages Washington Post Staffers To Go On 'A Really Long Strike' To 'Get Rid Of Fake News'

President Trump on Sunday encouraged the Washington Post staffers to go on "a really long strike."

President Trump has encouraged the Washington Post's employees to go on a "really long strike" to "get rid of Fake News."
"Washington Post employees want to go on strike because Bezos isn't paying them enough. I think a really long strike would be a great idea. Employees would get more money and we would get rid of Fake News for an extended period of time! Is @WaPo a registered lobbyist?" Trump tweeted Sunday.
The president's message comes as more than 400 Post employees released an open petition to owner and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos asking for "fair wages; fair benefits for retirement, family leave and health care; and a fair amount of job security."
The group also launched a YouTube video expressing their gratitude to Bezos for buying the Post but also describing the difficulty the employee union has had in gaining concessions from management despite the publication's success over the past year.
This public dispute seems to have given Trump new ammunition with which to attack the Washington Post and Bezos.
Trump tweeted in April, "The Washington Post is far more fiction than fact. Story after story is made up garbage - more like a poorly written novel than good reporting."
And for years, he has posted numerous messages criticizing Bezos and Amazon.
A recent piece by The Guardian suggests the source of Trump's ire, in part, could be Bezos' extreme wealth and contrasting style.
