Why Traffic Jams Can't Be Solved
Traffic jams generate pollution, increase stress, and decrease productivity. And unfortunately, Mother Nature Network.com reports there still seems to be no solution to them in sight. The many factors at work in traffic jams are many. One are so-called "phantom intersections" on highways, where cars slow to exit or let cars in. Another problem is that human reaction speed is essentially too slow to ever avoid the need to come to a complete stop.
