A 31 year old woman is now battling for her life due to alleged medical negligence in Kolkata. This after a reputed private hospital transfused wrong blood group post operation. Baisakhi Saha went to Colombia Asia hospital in Salt lake with abdominal pain. After USG she was diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy. She was operated on 5th of this month. But post operation instead of A+ blood which is her blood group the hospital has allegedly transfused AB+. She has suffered multiple organ failure. Now in ventilation. The hospital on the other hand has been billing the paitient and now handed over a bill of 5 lakh rupees. The husband of the patient has lodged a complaint with Bidhan Nagar police station and has also shot off a letter to Mamata Banerjee, the state health minister.
