THE END OF THE GODINEAU BRIDGE
The end is near for the historic Godineau River Bailey Bridge which has spanned the South Oropouche river since the 1930s. A new dual carriageway bridge has been completed just east of the existing bridge and is due to be officially opened on June 8, 2018. The new brigde was constructed by Lutchmeesingh Transport Contractors Limited and is part of the Solomon Hochoy Highway Extension Project.
