Cong cornered in the recently concluded Karnataka assembly elections. Newspaper ad in leading dailies expose desperate cong attempts. Cong has put out comparative figure of seats won, claims to have won 29 seats in 2013 which went up in the same year and has given the credit to the split within the BJP when BSY had left the party. Ad shows Cong's comparison from 2008 to 2018 skipping 2013, it has been propped up by section of Lingayat cong leaders.
