According to the Korea Development Institute, strong exports are driving the trend, off-setting sluggish consumption and investment.
The latest estimate released today... shows... sales in lodging and food service sectors in April declined 1-point-8 percent on-year.
In contrast, semiconductor, petroleum and petrochemical exports all posted strong growth in May.
Compared to the same period last year, exports of semiconductors soared 44-point-5 percent, petroleum by 37-point-6 percent and petrochemical by 26-point-8 percent.
