Jared Leto's Joker to Get Standalone Film Variety reports that Leto will both executive produce and star in the solo film. Leto’s rendition of the Joker first appeared in ‘Suicide Squad’ in 2016 and hasn’t appeared in a film since. The plot is still unknown though Variety says that it will expand upon the world created in ‘Suicide Squad’. The film also does not have a production date yet and it is unclear if it will shoot before or after the planned ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel. Leto has been vocal about doing a movie that put Joker in a starring role after getting limited screen time in his debut.
