Kid Cudi (born January 30th, 1984) is an indie singer rapper and songwriter originally from Cleveland, Ohio whose music is a unique blend of laid-back hip-hop and rock.\r

His real name being Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, Kid Cudi adopted his more manageable stage name at the dawn of his career, which really began after he moved to Brooklyn, New York with dreams of becoming a rapper. Cudi soon became associated with the Brooklyn-based record label, Fools Gold, responsible for the likes of A-Track, Lil B and Danny Brown.\r

The song that launched his rise to popularity both in the US and across seas was the namesake of his initial EP “Day ‘n Night,” released in February 2008. Around the same time a remix of the track from Italian electronic duo, Crookers (also on the Fools Gold label) made the rounds of various electronic blogs and music sites. This created a huge amount of online buzz for Kid Cudi and provided a solid fan base from which to launch his debut conceptual album, “Man on the Moon: The End of Day” towards the end of new. In new Kid Cudi announced he would join forces with Dot Da Genius (the producer on “Day ‘n Night”) and teach himself to play guitar to form the rock-rap band, WZRD and release their music on his own label (formed with Plain Pat and Emile Haynie), Dream On records. However, due to creative differences Dream On was dissolved and instead WZRDs material was released on Cudis own label, Wicked Awesome in new.\r

His third solo album, “Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon,” in keeping with the “Man on the Moon” abstrion, was released in February new with little promotion. It flew very much under the radar in comparison to his earlier success, which included another solo album from Cudi entitled “Indicud,” featuring collaborations with Haim, A$AP Rocky and the drummer from Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty.\r
