India Looks To Assert Diplomatic And Security Role In Southeast Asia

According to a report by Reuters, India has taken steps in recent days, to cement the country's diplomatic and security ties throughout Southeast Asia in a clear challenge to China. Reuters reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has signed an agreement with Indonesia to develop a new port in the city of Sabang, and agreed to a pact with Singapore on logistical support for naval ships, submarines and military aircraft during visits.
