Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’ will not be released in Karnataka, Cauvery puts 'Kaala' in choppy waters
  • 6 years ago
Politics over the decades old Cauvery water dispute seems to have found yet another soft target. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has decided not to release megastar turned politician Rajnikanth’s upcoming film Kaala in the state Why? Because Rajni recently said that Karnataka was duty bound to obey the orders of the Supreme Court directing the state to release more water to neighbour Tamil Nadu and that statement has deeply offended Kannadiga groups and so almost a dozen of them decided to petition the Karnataka Film Chamber asking that Kaala not be released in the state and the film chamber was all too willing to oblige citing pressure.
