Hi, its day 2 after operation, about midday. As you can probably hear I sound a little bit nasally. I do have the slight sensation blocked nose. However, this was ually after I applied the antibiotic ointment which is very viscous. \r
So doing that is why I sound nasally ually otherwise I can breathe fine with the exception of the gauze. I had to replace that a couple of times still.\r
Bleeding is definitely much lighter than it was yesterday however and Im hoping that by tomorrow I shouldnt need that at all. \r
The great thing was that although yesterday I felt very well and still relaxed and I felt fine after the sedation. I realized that today I am fully cognitively capable and I have all motoring skills completely returned.\r
Yesterday I was a tad clumsy. This morning I am fine. So much so I have returned to work although I wouldnt recommend going into work at this stage since I can work from home, in many cases I have been perfectly capable of performing my normal daily ivities. \r
The other thing I would notice that since I was breathing through my mouth quite heavily throughout the night I did get a very dry throat very quickly throughout the night. So having plenty of water next to the bed was a huge plus. Because walking downstairs after the medications I had taken to help me sleep would have been perhaps not the best idea. So that was yeah a very restful sleep. \r
I woke up the normal time. I have no real pain. \r
There is some swelling I noticed that on the bridge of my nose towards my eyes this area here is definitely widely than normal its sensitive to touch so I assume thats all part of that swelling process as well as the tip of my nose which is protruding through the bandages is also quite swollen. \r
That said Im already quite pleased with results. Its very difficult to identify so everything with a pinch of salt however by looking into the mirror I can notice that my nose is somewhat smaller. Not a lot but it is smaller and that is very promising given that Im still at the early stages of swelling and I have a lot of healing process to go through and of course Im trying to measure that through what you can see as many layers of protection especially along the bridge here. \r
The cleaning process is quite easy although it does take some time and some care. If you have someone to assist you I think that would be very helpful. I apply the hydrogen peroxide its a solution which I was prescribed with some Q tips. And then apply the ointment I was given. \r
Although, as I said earlier the ointment does quickly make you feel very congested, just because of the viscosity and you cant breathe particularly well although I can breathe okay, I am obviously not gulping in air through my nose. \r
With regards to other side effects such as headaches and such Ive experienced absolutely none. I feel perfectly capable and yeah quite well. Eating is slightly difficult just because I am unable to chew particularly well mostly because of the gauzing currently using its ually half of a cotton bud, since I ran out, Im going to need to take a trip to the shop later. \r
You see as I moved my upper lip that causes pressure to go up against my nose which is uncomfortable so Im trying to avoid chewing quite tough foods at the moment, which is also a lot of soup and so on. Similar problem occurs when brushing my teeth. \r
I would strongly recommend prior to the surgery to buy some mouthwash and a toothbrush an electric toothbrush. Since getting in there with manual toothbrush and pushing around this jaw area which is still very sensitive is a little bit difficult. I just tilt my head back a little bit to do it but it wasnt too bad at all and lots of soups. \r
Other than that Im so far very, very pleased with my recovery. To reiterate I have some small swelling, a little bit bruising but absolutely no discomfort at all. The most discomforting for is the gauze you can see Im wearing under my nose which is to protect the blood from flowing down. \r
Additionally I would perhaps recommend removing your moustache if you have one prior to the operation. I found that the hair follicles trapped the dry blood. That made the cleaning process that little bit more difficult although a cotton bud and some of the hydrogen peroxide it does remove it quite easily that would have been a little bit helpful to have done that. \r
