According to Myanmar's National Security Advisor Thaung Tun, the government is willing to take back all 700,000 Rohingya Muslim refugees forced to flee into Bangladesh as long as they volunteer to return. The U.N. and other aid organizations have claimed that since August 2017, about 700,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled a military crackdown in the Buddhist majority Myanmar that resulted in many reported killings and rapes, as well as large scale arson.
