Ugandans Will Now Have To Pay A Social Media Tax

Ugandans now have to pay a daily tax to use all social media platforms. A lawmaker told CNN that the Ugandan government has done this in order to avoid donor aid. People will now have to pay 200 Ugandan shilling a day to use platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, And WhatsApp. President Museveni approves of this new law. He has been reported in local media in the past as stating that social media encourages gossip.
