The Bangalore development authority is struggling to implement several projects owing to nonavailability of funds, but it wants to buy 10 new cars for its officials, including 2 luxury cars worth Rs 50 lakh each for senior officials. The authority claims that its officials will have to visit government departments in vidhana soudha and vikasa soudha several times a month, and that cars in good condition are a necessity.
