Croatia manager Ante Cacic has branded a minority of his country’s fans “sport terrorists” after his team’s match with Czech Republic was interrupted by flares thrown from the stands.

The 62-year-old could not contain his anger after the match – which ended 2-2 after an injury-time penalty from Tomas Necid – and hit out at the supporters responsible for throwing around a dozen flares and fighting in the stands.

UEFA has confirmed this evening that it will open disciplinary proceedings against the Croatian FA, and Cacic has been quick to condemn what happened.
