A pensioner was left gobsmacked when found his first ever pay packet still full -- 62 YEARS after giving it to his mother for safekeeping.

Michael Doherty, 77, made the astonishing discovery when he was clearing out his mothers home after she was transferred to a nearby care home.

After his first week of work as an apprentice builder in 1955, he went straight home and gave his mother his 2 pounds, 15 shillings, and 9 pence worth of wages.
