Business Owner Who Paid £13,000 For Superfast Broadband Left With Slow Internet Speed

When workmen came to set up the connection for Charles Bunker they should have linked it to a superfast line 497 meters down the road. He claims due to his postcode they opted to connect it to an old copper cabling system which is four times as far away, and only able to generate around 5mbps of the 100mbps he ordered. The proprietor of the historic Orchard Tea Room in the village of Granchester near Cambridge, Cambs said: "If the business were on the other side of this piece of land, in other words at the other end of the garden we would have been connected to the obvious line. "It is all down to our postcode, it is just that silly." Mr Bunker has complained that despite being situated on the outskirts of the UK's greatest tech city his business has been lumped with third world connectivity.
