Fireworks shot at a police van after claims more than 200 bike riders 'rode amok'

At least seven people were arrested and 10 motorcycles seized last night as police worked to contain 'loutish' bikers in Birmingham. Police say the riders – many wearing face coverings – caused chaos as they sped along major roads, jumped red lights, weaved between traffic and pulled dangerous street stunts. Other bikers pulled wheelies in the street, mounted pavements and damaged other vehicles, it was claimed. A fire engine was also stopped from reaching an emergency call out during the chaos, say police. A police van came under attack and there were reports some of the group threw fireworks at other motorists.
