Commuters heard a loud bang before the flames burst out on the tracks by a platform at Three Bridges station. Paul Graves, 33, was waiting at the West Sussex station for a Saturday morning train to London, to go to his brother-in-law's stag do, when he heard a loud cracking noise. And when he turned to see where the noise came from, he saw a ball of fire tearing up the tracks. Paul, from Crawley, West Sussex, said: "There was a group of us waiting around at 10.30 for a train up to Victoria when I saw a train pass through from the Brighton direction up towards London quite quickly.
