Dancer Who Overcame Nutcracker Syndrome Denied School Funding
  • 5 years ago
A dancer is fighting for funding to go to a top prestigious musical academy after battling back to health when she was diagnosed with a debilitating condition - called NUTCRACKER SYNDROME. Jessica Wright was just 14 when she was told she may never dance again after medics discovered she had the agonising kidney condition Nutcracker Syndrome. The condition is named because arteries servicing the kidneys get wrapped around the vein and appear to be crushing it - like the beloved wooden nut-eating device. Jessica, now 18, spent more than three years being treated for the horrific condition, before a major operation saw her kidney be removed and untangled - leaving her able to pursue a career in dance.
