Political writer runs 'naked' through Whitehall for Ladbrokes bet

David Cameron's favourite political writer bottled out of a naked bet to streak through Whitehall – by wearing PANTS. Timid Dan Hodges vowed to run through Westminster naked wearing a Nigel Farage mask if UKIP broke 6 per cent in the 2015 general election. While he didn't completely strip off, Dan ran down the street in the rain yesterday (Thurs) wearing black pants and grey trainers to raise money for the Elizabeth Legacy of Hope and Terrence Higgins Trust charities, sponsored by Ladbrokes. The political columnist underestimated the right-wing party as they hit 12.5 per cent in the May vote. He on Wednesday he said: "Tomorrow's streak not just exercise in self-humiliation. Also for two great charities." On December 15, 2012, Dan write: "If UKIP break 6 per cent at the next election I'll streak naked down Whitehall in a Nigel Farage mask whilst singing Land of Hope and Glory..." Dan, who writes a daily column for The Telegraph, was branded David Cameron's new favourite columnist in 2013.
