Scot becomes first to play BAGPIPES at South Pole

Jak Kennedy, 29, played in freezing temperatures of -30C at the end of a gruelling 70 mile trek in the Antarctic last week. The adventurer from Carlops, Scottish Borders, played 'Scotland The Brave' at the ceremonial south pole and 'Teribus' at the geographical pole. He taped hand warmers to his hands as he exposed them to the treacherous conditions for a minute. But he had to defrost the instrument in order to play it again at the geographical pole. Jak, who has played the pipes for 20 years, said he went into autopilot when he started playing
