Air crash investigations look at the scene of a light aircraft crash near the village of Churchinford, Somerset, in which four people died. November 15 2015. Four people have been killed in a light aircraft crash in a picturesque village. Two men and two women died when the six-seater plane came down into a field near Churchinford, Somerset. The aircraft was heading from the Surrey area towards Dunkeswell Aerodrome, an airfield in east Devon, when it crashed at around 11.45pm yesterday (Saturday). Police confirmed officers were called to the scene, alongside crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and South Western Ambulance Service. The fire service sent 27 staff - in three fire appliances and three specialist vehicles - while the ambulance service dispatched two ambulances and a Hazardous Area Response Team. The Exeter-based Devon Air Ambulance and the National Police Air Service helicopter also attended.
