How To Make a Survival Water Filter

Water is essential to life.People can live up to a week without food, but only two to three days without water. Clean water can be hard to find if you get stranded in the wild or if there is an emergency. You can make this filter very easy with basic materials that you can find in the wild or can buy very cheap\r
If you have to find your own water , you must be able to strain out impurities that can make you sick.\r

First lets cut off the back of the bottle this is where we are going to put the water in.\r
\r
Using your knife, scissors, or anything sharp, make a small hole in the center of the cap. In my case i used my knife and easily made a nice hole in the center.\r
scissors work just as well.\r
\r
Put a filter over the mouth of the bottle and tighten the cap over it. A filter will keep the sand inside the bottle and keep it from falling out. The cap will hold the filter in place. You can use a coffee filter or some cloth. In my case we used a piece of cloth\r

Now add some gravel or small rocks. In our case We used rocks. \r
try using two types of gravel or rocks: fine gravel or small rocks and a chunky gravel or bigger ricks. First put in the big rocks and then the smaller rocks Also if you can boil the rocks or gravel to kill the impurities that can make you sick\r

Now add a layer of sand\r
You can use any type of sand you want. You can find almost sand every where\r
if you are near a river just walk down stream and you will find sand. \r

Now add a layer with ivated charcoal. If the charcoal comes in large pieces, you will need to break them down into smaller pieces. Do this by putting the chunks inside a bag, and crushing them with a hard object .\r

Now add another layer of sand\r
You can use any type of sand you want like before\r
\r
And now add a cloth or something like that. You can also use grass but you want to refresh the grass everytime you put water in the filter.\r

Pour the water back through the filter if it is not clear.[4] Once the water stops dripping, take the jar out from under the filter., then pour the filtered water back in the filter. You may need to repeat the filtering process two or three times before the water runs clear.\r

Boil the water for at least one minute to make it safe to drink. \r
So lets make a fire. First lets collect some wood and birch bark. We are going to use the birch bark as a fire starter.\r
The water will also still contain dangerous beria, chemicals, and microorganisms. You can get rid of all these by boiling the water for at least one minute\r
