Pregnant 71-year-old woman soon become the world's oldest mom

MAZATLAN, MEXICO — A 71-year-old woman from Mazatlan, Mexico, claims that she is six months pregnant and will soon give birth to a baby girl.

If so, that would make her the oldest mother to give birth in history. But who's the father?!

The woman, named Maria de la Luz said that she was aware of her pregnancy since three months ago. She started feeling fatigued and had symptoms like dizziness and nausea.

She also said she has ultrasound checkups 10 times and the results showed that that she will be a mother to her baby girl. Doctors who examined her was also surprised by the results.

Despite the good news, Maria's children aren't too happy with the news of their mother being pregnant again, especially for a woman of her age.

Regardless, Maria is scheduled to give birth on July 18 via C-section.

Her pregnancy story quickly went viral in Mexico. One of the local politicians even expressed the desire to be the godfather for the miracle baby.

Several hospitals in town have invited Maria for a checkup to see if she really is pregnant, so far, the one and only ultrasound photo is the one Maria has shown to the reporter.

Currently, the oldest mother being pregnant is Maria del Carmen Bousada, in 2006 she gave birth to a twins at the age of 66 years and 358 days.
