Meghan McCain revealed that she screamed at and fought with her father, Senator John McCain, not long after his July 2017 surgical procedure and brain cancer diagnosis.

Meghan McCain revealed in an HBO documentary that she screamed at and fought with her father, Senator John McCain, not long after his surgical procedure and brain cancer diagnosis last year.  The matter at hand was his decision to fly to Washington, D.C. to cast his vote on the GOP's Obamacare repeal effort.  According to People, Meghan McCain recalls in the documentary, "John McCain: For Whom The Bell Tolls," "He said, 'I have to get back for the healthcare bill' and I said, 'What could possibly happen if he gets on a plane?' and the doctor said, he would like hemorrhage and it can be dangerous if he still has air in his brain, and all this crazy stuff."  "So I freaked out and I screamed at everyone that he couldn't get on the plane and that I didn't agree with it," she noted. "And my dad snapped at me and said, 'It's my life and it's my choice."'  The senator went on to cast the crucial vote to reject the GOP's legislation, which would have ended a number of provisions and regulations in the healthcare law.  "While the amendment would have repealed some of Obamacare's most burdensome regulations, it offered no replacement to actually reform our health care system and deliver affordable, quality health care to our citizens," John McCain explained in a statement. "I've stated time and time again that one of the major failures of Obamacare was that it was rammed through Congress by Democrats on a strict-party line basis without a single Republican vote. We should not make the mistakes of the past that has led to Obamacare's collapse."
