Next Media: Bloodhound supersonic car set to break land speed record in 2015

SWANSEA (Wales), Oct 15 — A British team is developing a car that could reach speeds of 1,000 mph (1,610 km/h), which would make it the fastest car in the world.
The £15 million (RM76.2 million) car, dubbed the Bloodhound Supersonic Car, or Bloodhound SSC, is powered by a rocket bolted to a Eurofighter Typhoon jet engine. The car is 13.4 metres wide, 3 metres tall and weighs 6.4 tonnes. A jet airplane is the only vehicle that can travel faster than the Bloodhound within the Earth's atmosphere. No vehicle can match its speed close to the ground, where the air is thicker. — Reuters
