Mrs Binita - Interior Designing @ Prestige Shantiniketan Bangalore [Final]

Hello Everyone, This is Sameer here from Bonito Designs, and today Id be doing a tour of one of the home interior we did at Prestige Shatinikethan for Mr Jai and Mrs Binita out here in Bangalore.\r
This flat has close to 2000 Sft of living area and that is a very good space for putting in some great décor ideas.\r
From the main door you have an aptly sized foyer area that has sufficient space for a nice sit-out which would include shoe storage. We wanted to add warmth to this area and hence decided on going for a warm tone of lighting and very minimally designed wall.\r
The foyer gives way to a huge living and dining space that spans across a 20 x 20 area and has an amazing 7 footed sliding window which pumps in sufficient light till evening. We could have easily over decorated space of this magnitude, but instead as per our customers taste we settled with minimalistic approach towards both amount of furniture and even the color palette.\r
When you have space this big; you are bound to have ideas to put in space partitions or furniture that wouldas partition. Our strong advice: DONT. These partition not only kill your freedom across the home but also takeaway the openness and natural light which are main ingredients in making your house a home.\r
Over here is the entertainment spot which includes a low height TV cabinet with huge pullouts to hide those newspapers and magazine which would otherwise clutter up your tea table and sofa. And the sofa in itself s as a virtual partition to the living room which is placed at the end of viewing distance of the TV.\r
And here we have the dining space which faces the kitchen directly and can be approached by all the bedrooms.\r
Since the walls here are at least of 20 feet width we chose not to go for special decors such as stone cladding or wall paper which might look good but take away the focal point from what we hang up on the wall; which is exly what we wanted, since our customers are way too paintings savy and they wanted all their walls to be readied for the paintings that they have now; and which theyd buy in future.\r
With that in mind is how we decided and designed the ceiling. Wall lighting would have made the room look blotchy and unevenly lit; but instead we divided square feet area with wattage of the LED panels used on ceiling to come up with a layout which not only lit the entire area evenly but also filled in better lighting over dining and entertainment space.\r
Now Id like to take you to the kitchen.\r
With an area of 13 x 11, kitchen gave us a lot of options with regards to functionality. We started off the design by keeping the hob and chimney exly in the center and adding in perfect symmetry with the top cabinets. We chose to push the oven and other utilities over to the left as that is the side that is least visible from living space. The chimney pipe gets concealed behind the loft that spans the entire length of top cabinets.\r
In the bottom weve done away mostly with the tandem boxes on both ends which give enough storage space for whatever type of things you keep in the kitchen. The corners have been filled in by D tray and also magic corner on one end.\r
Let me show you the study room\r
This home has a dedicated study area which has been retained as a study area by customers. We have made space for two adults along with a central storage which s as a space partition; and on other end just a simple tall unit to push in taller files.\r
This is Jais Room and Jai being above 6 in height needed the wardrobe to be personalized for me. We went in for a slider wardrobe with above average height and mirror placed at a height that was very much friendly to him. The rest of the décor has been kept quite simple with just a designer light on the wall.\r
This is the parents room and as you can notice; the color palette has been kept constant in every other room; and in this room specifically we went ahead for a sleek slider wardrobe with a bit of futuristic pattern on the sliding doors which otherwise would have looked plain and boring if it were left as it is.\r
This is the master bedroom, and also is the only bedroom with dedicated balcony. We decided to put a full length dresser just near the balcony as one could dress themselves well with side lighting, and over there we put the huge 8 sliding wardrobe with a very simple pattern on the sliding doors and on the top we simply put 2 top openable doors as 4 would have been a bit of a clutter and non-synchronized with the bottom sliders.\r
