Hey Grandad, can you convert a small toy car to rubber band power?

Madhav Mahajan asked if I could convert a small toy car to rubber band power so I had a hunt through my grandchildrens toy box and found some candidates.\r
The final mod makes the car run forward and then come back again because the band is tied to the back axle. I could have changed this to allow the band to drop off and allow the car to free wheel but I didnt want to cut the car up too much because I want to use it later for a solar power conversion.\r
Cutting a slot up the underside of the car to allow access to the rubber band would have been the modification required.\r

I have thousands of videos on YouTube covering a wide range of subjects. To find them follow my search guides or or see my playlists page \r
Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by anybody who wants to try themselves. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap.\r
