STATE CAN'T PAY, VEHICLES SEIZED FOR SALE
An Injured labourer awarded $700,000 by the court, levied on the Siparia Regional Corporation on Tuesday and took away the State’s trucks and pick up vans for failing to pay him compensation.
The embarrassing situation arose because the Corporation had nowhere near enough money to pay Neru Joseph, almost a year after he won the legal action. All that Corporation Chairman Dr Gelnn Ramdharsingh could do as the flat-bed trucks rolled away with four trucks and two pick up vans, was to take a record.
