A sinkhole recently opened up on the grounds of the White House and the jokes are flowing.

A sinkhole recently opened up on the grounds of the White House and the jokes are flowing.  "This week I've been observing a sinkhole on the @WhiteHouse North Lawn, just outside the press briefing room, growing larger by the day," Steve Herman, VOA's White House Bureau Chief, tweeted on Tuesday. That message was retweeted by Dictionary.com, which did its job by explaining that a sinkhole is "a hole formed in soluble rock by the action of water," and adding, "Also a sinkhole: A place into which foul matter runs."  "Perhaps due to the swampy weather in DC lately...There's a sinkhole in the North Lawn of the White House," CNN's Jim Acosta reported.  NastyWomenofNPS, which describes itself as "the Unofficial Resistance team of nasty lady rangers your elected officials warned you about," went all in, tweeting, "An actual, literal sinkhole has opened on the White House lawn outside the briefing room on the north side. Even the earth is trolling Trump and I'm here for it."  According to the Washington Times' tweet, the problem has been temporarily dealt with. The news outlet posted pictures of the area, which looked a lot like a crime scene--yellow tape, tarp and all--and wrote, "The great White House sinkhole of 2018...fixed."
